The education programs provided at Eastwood Early Education reflect a constructivist view of learning whereby
children learn by doing, through play. Teachers create individualised plans for each child based on their observations and interactions with the child,
recognition of the child’s interests, strengths and limitations.
The Early Years Learning Framework informs the development of this program. Children are provided with quality resources, qualified teachers, time, space and a flexible, supportive and nurturing environment.
To provide a warm, inviting and friendly atmosphere where children and families feel welcomed, safe and secure.
Cater for the needs of all children, encouraging the healthy development of physical, emotional, cognitive, creative and social skills.
Cater for each child’s individual needs through the planning and implementation of programs designed for their specific interests and needs.
To support parents in their roles and to involve parents in all aspects of the program, respecting their opinions and input.
To provide a safe and hygienic learning environment.
To develop an inclusive program that respects and values the diverse backgrounds and abilities of all children and families.
In recent years, early childhood professionals have converged around the promotion of
play as a vital element in child development.
Play is the means through which children learn most effectively. Through its natural integration of experience and thinking, the constructivist approach to teaching encourages children to unfold how the world works
not just as observers, but as active participants.
